  • Ekajaṭī is one of the three principal protectors of the Nyingma school, known as the trio ofMa Dza Dam Sum. Ekajati is a wisdom deity manifesting in wrathful form.

    This 9-inch Ekajati statue, in accordance with the Chokling Tersar tradition, was designed under the guidance of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche. The statue is made of oxidized copper and features gold leafing on the face.

*Prior to using this statue as a meditation support on your shrine, it is traditional to have a statue filled with the proper ritual substances and consecrated by a genuine lama.

  • Bound under oath by Guru Rinpoche,Ekajaṭī protects the teaching of the Buddha, as well as specific treasure teachings (terma).

    In particular,Ekajaṭī is regarded as the protector of the Dzogchen teachings. As her name indicates, she has a single lock of hair, eka meaningsingle, and jaṭī meaning lock of hair. She is sometimes depicted with a single eye, single leg, and single breast to indicate non-dual nature. She holds an axe, khatvanga, and a skull cup in her hands. With her right foot, she steps upon corpses, symbols of the ego. She has a single tooth and is adorned with a skull necklace and a tiger and a human skin. She is surrounded by flames, representing the blazing of wisdom.
