Bodh Gaya Marigold Khataks

Our Bodh Gaya khataks are lovingly spun from pure cotton thread and are hand-loomed in Bodh Gaya, the place of the Buddha’s awakening. The yellow khataks are produced from natural dye made from the marigolds offered to the sacred statue of the Buddha inside the Mahabodhi Temple. These are truly precious symbols of altruistic motivation.

These khataks are produced by women from disadvantaged communities in Bodh Gaya through a local economic empowerment program.
