    A place for practice

    Located in the forested mountains of Northern California, Rangjung Yeshe Gomde is a center in the Chokling Tersar lineage of Tibetan Buddhism under the spiritual direction of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche. 

    Our Roots

    Rangjung Yeshe Gomde was founded in 1998 by Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche at the wish of his late father Tulku Urgyen, one of the great meditation masters of modern times.

    Gomde Today

    Rangjung Yeshe Gomde California now offers intensive academic, meditation, and ritual courses throughout the year. With new leadership, Gomde California continues to expand its offerings and facilities. 

    How to Get Involved

    Our annual summer program features teachings and meditation instruction with masters from the Chokling Tersar tradition. Newcomers to Buddhism as well as long-time practitioners are welcome to join in studying, practicing and discussing the teachings.
