This necklace is handmade in Hawaii from recycled sterling silver. It is made by Catherine Weitzman, a student of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche and an expert jeweler.
All money from this sale will go directly to benefit the Nepal earthquake relief and reconstruction efforts of Rangjung Yeshe Shenpen, an organization currently doing vital and important work on behalf of local communities in serious need.
Although she studied jewelry making and classical metalsmithing and worked under several US designers, it wasn’t until Catherine and husband and co-creator, Scott Diamond, returned from a five-year adventure around the globe that she began her signature line of handmade jewelry. Catherine drew inspiration from the places they visited and the people they met on their extensive travels, as well as from immersive apprenticeships with traditional artisans in small villages and far-flung locales.
"Calm, kind, clear" is connected with the Buddhist teachings of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, who oversees the current efforts of Shenpen, which helps Nepalis who were affected by the disaster.
